THE DAREN SAMMY NATIONAL CRICKET STADIUM

The Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium offers spectators an ambient and picturesque environment. As one of the six Host Venues of The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup West Indies and USA 2024, 6 of the 55 games will be held at this venue.

Just about one hour from the city of Vieux Fort and close to Rodney Bay on the northeast coast of the island, the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium was previously known as the Beausejour Stadium and was renamed in 2016 in honour of Daren Sammy. By then, he had captained the West Indies Captain to two ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Victories, the first in 2012 and the next in 2016.

Saint Lucia is a strongly creole island. From its people to its food and culture, something extra differentiates it from the Anglophone islands and reflects a harmonious mixture of its French, British, African, and some Dutch roots. A walk through the old city of Vieux Fort will satisfy your urge to explore. You may find remnants of 18th-century architecture, charming eateries serving a callaloo and seafood dish, glimpses of the traditional madras worn during many national celebrations, and other surprises you never expected.

The Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium has a capacity of over 12,000. Secure your ticket so you, too can be seated among the many who will be present when the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 comes to town.(CWI)
