LOCAL DETERGENTS, SANITIZER, OTHER CLEANING PRODUCTS CERTIFIED ‘MADE IN GUYANA’

The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) on Thursday, March 07, 2024, certified Dunae Trading Company Inc. to use the ‘Made in Guyana Certification Mark’ on its Household Cleaner, Car Deva Detergent, Food Deva Sanitizer and Disinfectant.

The company located at 660-662 Block ‘Y’ Section ‘C’ Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD), manufactures over twenty-five (25) products under the ‘Tidy Up’ brand. Dunae Trading Company Inc. is now the 44th company to be granted approval to use the Made in Guyana Certification Mark’ on their products.

In a brief handing over ceremony held at the company’s location, the Made in Guyana Certificate was handed over to Dunae Trading Company Inc., Chief of Operations, Melissa Younge by GNBS Technical Officers, Orlando Sturge and Asha Sookoo in the presence of staff members of the company, among others.

Ms. Younge said achieving the Made in Guyana certification is a significant milestone for the company and shows the team’s commitment to maintaining quality. “We are a homegrown local company and so to have the Made in Guyana Mark or to be certified to the programme, really brings home everything we have worked for and build over the past years,” she added.

The Made in Guyana Standards Mark is a registered mark that aims to provide recognition to locally manufactured products on the local and international markets and is a signature of quality for authentic Guyanese Products.

In brief remarks on behalf of the GNBS, Mr. Sturge congratulated the company on its accomplishment. He urged the company to work towards not only maintaining the requirements of the programme but to work towards continuous improvement.

During the remainder of March, two other companies are slated for recertification by the GNBS under the Made in Guyana and Laboratory Certification Programmes. Plastific Inc. and Caribbean Surgery Inc. Laboratory will receive their certificates on March 14 and March 22, respectively.
