March 30, 2024: Doha, Qatar: According to accurate astronomical calculations carried out by professionals, the first day of the month of Shawwal and the first day of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr of this year will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, according to a statement of Qatar Calendar House and the Kuwaiti Al-Ojairi Scientific Center. Eid Holidays and next workday on April 16 th.
The crescent of the month of Shawwal will be born on Monday evening, corresponding to April 8, 2024, (the Crescent sighting day), at 9:22 pm, Doha local time and Kuwait time (6:22 pm. GMT). Qatar Calendar House and the Kuwaiti Al-Ojairi Scientific Center are among the most ancient centers in the region specialized in astronomy and space.
EID AL-FITR, also known as the “FESTIVAL OF BREAKING THE PAST,” is one of the most momentous events celebrated in the Islamic calendar. This special occasion marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs.
EID-AL-FITR marks the end of Ramadan and fasting while EID- UL-ADHA commemorates the concept of sacrifice and Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and understanding and appreciating the differences between these two celebrations deepen the cultural and religious significance of these festivals for Muslims worldwide.

According to a release from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the initial phase involved in-depth engagements with residents of the three villages with the objective of gaining a consensus on how the water catchment area should be used while exploring challenges and opportunities that exist. The release said that the management plan will be completed within six months.
Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman, who had given a previous undertaking to be present, said that while the Government through the Ministry of Natural Resources had pioneered the project, and will continue to provide support, the intention is not to give directives on how it should be managed since the residents should be the ones to determine how the resource can be used to enhance their livelihoods.
The release said that suggestions were proposed by the community leaders and residents for the use of the resource beyond providing fresh water for cattle and ruminants, such as agriculture, aqua-culture, tourism, and sport fishing.

Today, drought conditions in the NORTH RUPUNUNI are not as THREATENING as they would be 7 years ago. We NEED more CONTINUATION of Successful Projects from PAST GOVERNMENTS with TAXPAYERS MONIES.

YESTERDAY marked 182 years since the Africans who came to Guyana to toil on plantations as slaves received their freedom on August 1st, 1838.
Unknown to many, is the fact that the freed Africans were known to produce cassava and coconut products, after emancipation, since cassava is more synonymous to our Indigenous peoples.

According to the Department of Public Information, VICTORIA, the first village bought by the emancipated slaves of British Guiana, in 1839, was one of the biggest exporters of coconut and cassava products.
