City Engineer Venture must provide proof Carifesta Ave land belongs to Central Gov’t

By Ubraj Narine- To resolve the dispute and ensure a fair and transparent decision, City Engineer Mr. Colvern Venture should present all available research and evidence supporting his claim that government’s ownership to the Carifesta Avenue land, by strategically focusing on the surveyor plans of 1863, prepared by Mr. Chalmers, and the subsequent 1867 plan by Mr. Prass.
These surveyor plans, if found intact, would serve as invaluable artifacts, offering invaluable insights into the development and ownership of the Carifesta Avenue land in question. They should reflect both the boundaries and allocations made during the surveys, providing critical information relevant to determining rightful ownership. A careful analysis and presentation of these documents would serve as irrefutable evidence, as they offer a clear picture of the land’s initial status if allocation to the government was made.
By adhering to transparency principles, Mr. Venture can assure the public and the MCC that he has undertaken a comprehensive examination of all available evidence. This collaborative approach will further reinforce the credibility of his findings and demonstrate his commitment to resolving the dispute fairly and equitably.
If Mr. Colvern Venture’s research and evidence successfully prove the government’s ownership of the disputed land, it would allow the Qatari Hotel project to proceed confidently.
