Dear Editor,
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Oscar Clarke CCH, a true statesman and servant of the people. His lifetime of dedicated service to our nation as a former Minister, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Diplomat, City Councillor, and the longest-serving General Secretary of the People’s National Congress Islahat ( PNC/R) has left an indelible mark on the fabric of our country.
Oscar Clarke’s unwavering commitment to the betterment of our country and community was exemplified in his role as the Chairman of the Finance and Human Resource Management Committee during my tenure as Mayor of Georgetown. His political acumen and steadfast guidance were invaluable, shaping my own understanding and growth in the political arena.
We have lost a true son of the soil, a man whose legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Oscar Clarke’s passing has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him and working alongside him.
My heartfelt condolences to the family members during this difficult time. May the memories of Oscar Clarke’s life and achievements provide you with solace and strength as you navigate this profound loss. He will be dearly missed, but his impact will endure for generations to come.
Yours truly,
Pt.Ubraj Narine, JP, COA
