Dear Editor,
She is about the lone ranger standing out against corruption in a very corrupt government. She has some cojones!
She discovered corruption from a female assistant. She went to the bossman and told him, “Either she goes or I go”. The next day the assistant was gone. It happened last week. No one ever displayed that kind of courage to speak her mind to the bossman and remain in office. Others in higher position than her shiver or quiver to speak like that to the boss.
The assistant, whose father is a biggie on Robb Street, did well for herself since the shake up in April 2023 following American questioning and confiscation of a cell phone of a PS. She has built a massive mansion! The visa of the PS was cancelled. The visa of the assistant was cancelled; that didn’t prevent her she to go on a massive shopping spree in the Far East. Visas of several others, including business persons, were also revoked. Washington is clamping down on corruption in Guyana as it should.
So the assistant was quickly removed from the Ministry! The minister, who cuts a lonely figure, is cheered for her honesty. She is the kind of politician needed to run the government. She will make an excellent President. Please, Ambassador Theriot, more visas need to be cancelled to put an end to corruption!
Yours truly,
Nigel Pilgrim
