By Mark DaCosta- Amidst the joyous celebration of Linden’s 54th Anniversary, Region 10 Chairman, Deron Adams, exhorts residents to embrace Linden Town Week with profound pride and nostalgia. This annual commemoration, “One People, One Nation, One Destiny – Linden the Heart of Our Nation,” pays homage to the enduring legacy of the town’s transformation and unwavering community spirit. Linden Town Week 2024 ends on May 6.
In a poignant address, Adams underscored the significance of the occasion, stating, “Lindeners are resilient and tough, willing to confront challenges and speak truth to power whenever the occasion calls for it.” His words resonated deeply, echoing the sentiments of Lindeners who embody these values with unwavering pride.
Joined by esteemed officials such as Mayor Sharma Solomon, Regional Vice Chairman Mark Goring, Member of Parliament Devin Sears, and Deputy Mayor Dominique Blair, Adams rallied the community to uphold Linden’s rich heritage and unity in the face of adversity.
Reflecting on the essence of being a Lindener, Adams remarked, “Lindeners are uniquely proud of their town, and identify themselves loudly and proudly as sons and daughters of this town of ours wherever they may find themselves.” Adams made clear that this sentiment encapsulates the profound sense of belonging and camaraderie that defines our community.
As Linden Town Week unfolds, residents and visitors can look forward to a diverse array of activities meticulously curated to showcase the town’s cultural vibrancy and resilience. In acknowledging the challenges faced by the municipality, Adams extended gratitude to the Guyana Police Force for their proactive efforts in ensuring the safety of residents and businesses during the festivities.
