Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua has been appointed the new chairman of Northern Senators Forum.
The senator representing Katsina Central Senatorial District is the younger brother of late President Umaru Yar’adua.

His appointment followed the resignation of Abdul Ningi, senator representing Bauchi Central.
Ningi was suspended for three months by the Senate over his statement on the alleged padding of the 2024 budget.
Ningi, in a letter sent to the forum, wrote, “I would like to resign my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators forum. This is of course necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the nation at large.”

Also, the forum named Senator Tahir Mungono representing Borno North as its spokesperson to replace senator Sumaila Kawu who was warned by the Senate to stop sharing posts capable of causing unrest in the country.
