The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) has expressed solidarity with the government and people of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique following the impact of Hurricane Beryl.
The devastating effects of the hurricane have tested the resilience of the nation, but the GCIC remains optimistic about Grenada’s ability to recover and rebuild stronger than before.
“We have faith in our people and believe Grenada will emerge stronger and more resilient,” they stated in a release.
The Chamber applauded the swift response from the government and local authorities, as well as the unwavering support from its members, citizens, the diaspora, and regional and international partners in the aftermath of the disaster.
“We commend the government’s immediate action in addressing urgent needs and its strategic vision for a robust recovery,” affirmed the GCIC. “The Chamber reaffirms its commitment to collaborate closely with the government and all stakeholders to support and expedite recovery efforts.”
During this critical period, the GCIC has outlined its commitment to several key initiatives:
“1. Mobilise Resources: Partner with businesses and international organisations to
provide essential support to the affected
2. Advocate for Policy Support: Work with the government to implement policies for
rapid recovery and sustainability.
3. Foster Innovation and Resilience: Promote innovative solutions that restore and
enhance communities.
4. Strengthen Community Engagement: Encourage community-led initiatives focused on rebuilding and strengthening social cohesion.”
The GCIC expressed heartfelt gratitude to all individuals and organizations who have contributed to the relief efforts thus far.
