Georgetown, Guyana – The Suriname Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC) recently held a productive meeting with the Association of Economists in Suriname (VES). This strategic gathering at the SGCC offices in the Caribbean Trade Center aimed to foster economic collaboration and share insights between the neighboring countries.
The meeting featured a detailed presentation by Dr. Vishnu Doerga, Chair of SGCC, who provided an analysis of Guyana’s economy. Dr. Doerga highlighted the country’s current economic landscape, recent developments, and future projections, emphasizing the robust bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Guyana and Suriname.
Dr. Doerga also discussed the upcoming International Business Conference, which will be co-hosted by SGCC and the Guyana Manufacturing Association (GMSA) from October 15th to 17th, 2024. This event promises to be a pivotal platform for business leaders and investors, who are looking to explore partnerships and investment opportunities.
Rahul Lildhar, CEO of SGCC, discussed the chamber’s initiatives and provided updates on ongoing and upcoming projects. He emphasized SGCC’s dedication to improving trade relations, supporting its members, and advocating for business-friendly policies in both countries. Mr. Lildhar also highlighted key initiatives such as trade missions, B2B matchmaking, and networking events that the chamber has hosted, noting their successful outcomes.
