Dear Editor,
As our party- People’s National Congress Islahat (PNCR) prepares for its up-coming congress, it is imperative that we prioritise the integrity of the electoral processes. The recent announcement of congress dates- 28th, 29th , 30th of June 2024- signals the need for meticulous planning and execution to ensure that every member has the opportunity to participate in a fair and transparent manner.
The Central Executive Committee, along with Chairmen of groups and members, must collaborate to secure the integrity of these elections. This requires careful logistical planning to facilitate the participation of comrades from far- flung areas. Adequate arrangements must be made to overcome geographical barriers and ensure that every member’s voice is heard, through their delegates.
Appropriate notices and other relevant correspondences must be dispatched, to groups, in a timely manner. I do hope that, the General Secretary of the party, who has certain important responsibilities has the required resources to carry out her duties efficiently. A significant portion of the work for congress rests with the office of the General Secretary.
Furthermore, it is crucial that the register of groups and members undergoes thorough verification to prevent any discrepancies or inaccuracies. This process must be conducted with the utmost diligence to uphold the credibility of the electoral roll and safeguard against any attempts at manipulation or fraud.
Above all, the entire electoral process must be beyond reproach. Transparency, accountability, and fairness should serve as the guiding principles in every aspect of the congress elections. Any semblance of impropriety or irregularity must be swiftly addressed and rectified to uphold the democratic values of our party.
In these challenging times, with new political dynamics, it is imperative that we demonstrate unity, integrity, and commitment the integrity of our congress elections, we reaffirm our dedication to representing the collective will of our members and advancing the interests of the people we serve.
Yours truly,
Michael Pratt
